As part of our commitment to ensure the quality of Girl Guiding/Girl
Scouting in Europe, the Europe Region WAGGGS actively promotes the
training of the adult leaders who develop and deliver activities
to their members. Each Association in the Region develops its own
training programme based on WAGGGS' Policy on Training and Training
Guidelines. This programme is designed to enable their leaders to
acquire the knowledge, skills, attitudes and values which define
Girl Guiding/Girl Scouting.
The Europe Region supports and encourages each Association to develop
their own Training Scheme, through visits, seminars and other contacts.
It will also provide tailored support depending on the needs of
a particular Association. Each Association can submit their training
scheme for accreditation by WAGGGS.

have had their training schemes accredited.
The Europe Region WAGGGS, with the support of volunteer trainers
from Associations in Europe has produced a CD-ROM containing tools
which can be used by Associations to develop their training programme.

For the first
time, the Europe Region WAGGGS has developed a Long Term Training
Course for Trainers at European level, taking place over 12 months.
The first part of this programme took place in August 2002 . Around
40 trainers from throughout Europe met together in the United
Kingdom to learn new or alternative training methods and techniques,
to help participants reflect and develop their own training practice,
to develop an individual training project and re-establish the
European Trainers' Network
