38 Member Organisations, representing 65 national Girl Guide or Girl Scout Associations with a total membership of 1.2 million young people, belong to the Europe Region WAGGGS. Since 1990, 13 new Associations from Central and Eastern Europe have joined the Europe Region WAGGGS, and 2 countries are working towards membership. Therefore, the Region now supports Girl Guiding/Girl Scouting or is considering its development in 42 countries throughout Europe. Where there is more than one National Association providing Girl Guiding/Girl Scouting in a country, these Associations come together to form a Federation which becomes the Member Organisation for that country.
