The Europe Region WAGGGS is dependent on voluntary support to
carry out its work. The Europe Region receives voluntary contributions
from its Member Organisations towards its running costs, and grants
to support the administration of the Region, and the specific
seminars or events organised throughout the year.
Few NGOs, and WAGGGS is no exception, have sufficient resources
to do everything they would wish. Identifying new sources of funding
for the development of Girl Guiding/Girl Scouting in Europe, and
ensuring that potential funders understand the value of Girl Guiding/Girl
Scouting is a high priority for the Region. Work in this area
is continually ongoing a new initiative to raise funds
to support the work of the Europe Region - the Friends of the
Europe Region WAGGGS was launched in June 2002.
Money, as one of an organisations key resources, must be
handled carefully and spent in such a way to further the aims
of the organisation. Financial considerations are always taken
into account when Regional activities are planned and good financial
management is an important part of the work of the Region.
The Region also supports Associations to develop good financial
practices as part of the structure and management of their own
organisations and gives advice on funding opportunities within
Europe for their own projects.
